A Community Celebration of Pittsburgh Yards®
September 18 @ 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm
We’ve come a long way in our journey to create a place for Black-owned businesses to launch, grow and create economic opportunities for generations to come! Join us for a community celebration of Pittsburgh Yards on Saturday, September 18, from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. (concurrent with the Pittsburgh Community Market). Enjoy a marketplace, entertainment, outdoor activities for families and children, free children’s books, tours of The Nia Building™ – A Place of PurposeSM and opportunities to experience the many businesses that are thriving at Pittsburgh Yards.
- Parade to the stage with gravity stilt walkers, Manga African Dance, and the Atlanta Ol Skool Drummers
- DJ Earl
- Jazz performers Jody Mayfield and Ronald Hampton
- Djeliba Drum and Dance Ensemble
- Spoken Word Artist ABYSS
- Moving in the Spirit Dancers
To ensure the safety of guests and our community, masks will be required inside The Nia Building. Masks are also encouraged outside when social distancing isn’t possible. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the event, and some free masks will be distributed at the tour registration desk. Though there will be a limited number of spaced-out chairs in front of the stage, people are also encouraged to sit outside the tent — remember to bring a blanket or chair so you can relax.
To support and advance the mission of Pittsburgh Yards®, development partners will be taking photographs, videos and/or recordings at this event. Your entry constitutes your consent to being photographed, filmed and/or otherwise recorded and acknowledging that the use of such photography, filming and/or recording in media relations, publications, displays, advertisements, websites, social media platforms and for any purpose related to public education and information.
