The Homestead Exemption is a property tax break that can significantly lower the property taxes you pay on your home. The basic exemption is available to anyone in Georgia who owns (or will soon inherit) and lives in their home. There are additional specialty exemptions for senior citizens, disabled citizens, disabled veterans, and more. The deadline to apply is April 1st.
